Basil is a sacred plant in India, and used in ayurvedic medicine. It has a warm, spicy, yet herbal aroma known to reduce anxious feelings. Basil provides great benefits to both the mind and body due to its high linalool content, making it an ideal application to help reduce feelings of tension when applied to the temples and back of the neck. Basil has been used as a strewing herb to reduce odors, and has many culinary applications. The aroma of Basil helps promote a sense of focus and a stress-relieving experience.

Duration of use
Adults 18 and over:
Not for oral use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with vegetable oil. Topical: Do not use essential oils undiluted. Topical: Rub and/or massage into skin until solution vanishes. Local application (10% or less of body surface area): Mix 4 - 16 drops (0.20 - 0.80 ml) of essential oil in 20 ml of carrier oil. Apply to affected area up to 3 times per day. ,Body massage (more than 10% of the body surface area): Mix 4 - 16 drops (0.20 - 0.80 ml) of essential oil in 20 ml of carrier oil. Apply once daily. Bath: Add 2 — 8 drops of undiluted essential oil with the same amount of shampoo or liquid soap before adding it to the bath. Mix the water gently. For maximum benefit, remain in the bath for 10 minutes. Use 2 drops of undiluted essential oil the first time and increase by 1 drop per bath up to a maximum of 8 drops. Use once daily. Direct inhalation: Apply 1 — 6 drops of undiluted essential oil to a handkerchief/tissue and inhale occasionally. Up to 3 times per day. Steam inhalation: Add 3 — 12 drops of undiluted essential oil to a bowl of steaming water/facial steamer. Inhale slowly and deeply for 5 to 10 minutes. Up to 3 times per day.
